RADFORD – A Radford City resident was injured Tuesday evening when he was pistol whipped during a home invasion robbery.
Radford City Police Lt. Andy Wilburn said police responded to the 100 block of Copper Beach Drive around 8:38 p.m. Tuesday after receiving a report of a home invasion robbery. The two victims reported that at least two males wearing bandanas on their face had entered the unlocked residence and demanded various items, including jewelry.
The victims reported that at least one of the robbers was armed with a handgun and pistol-whipped one of the victims in the back of the head, Wilburn said. He indicated the victim refused treatment for the injuries.
After the incident, the suspects left the scene in an unknown direction of travel.
Although a description wasn’t available for one of the suspects, the other one is described as a black male of unknown height, said Wilburn. That suspect was wearing jeans, a dark jacket, a gray or black bandana on his face and possibly a brown hoodie underneath the jacket.
Authorities are asking the public for help identifying the suspects. Anyone having information on the incident or suspects is asked to call Radford City Police Department’s crime tip line at 731-5040.
