Ellen Carroll Gregory, 77 of Pulaski, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 26, 2013. She was born April 28, 1935 in Shiloh, the daughter of the late Fred and Willie Thomas Carroll. She was preceded in death by Charles Alvis Gregory, a son, James Alvis Gregory and daughters, Patricia Dawn Gregory and Kennetha Diane Gregory Melton, and a sister, Glenna Hudson. She was a retiree of Renfro Corporation and a longtime employee of Virginia Maid Hosiery Mill. She was a loving mother and friend to many. She never met a stranger and her door was always open to everyone. Many people broke bread with Ellen.
She is survived by her loving sister, Beulah Covey, of Pulaski; her sons, Richard Garland Gregory, Allan Wayne Gregory and Carl Edward Gregory, of Pulaski; her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Charles Barnett of Columbus, N.C.; grandchildren and spouses, Kimberly and Bradley Nester, Jason and Yendi Gregory, Tish and Jeremy Fox, and Stacy Gregory, and great-grandchildren, Angela Branch, Dawson Fox, Emily Nester, Justin Gregory, and Rayce Fox.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 29, at 2 p.m. from the Stevens Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jim Linkous officiating. Burial will follow in Hufford Cemetery, Pulaski. Visitation will be from noon until the service hour from Stevens Funeral Home.
