Dorothy Anne Murphy Donithan

Dorothy Anne Murphy Donithan, age 82 of Pulaski, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013.

Born July 24, 1930 in Pulaski, she was the daughter of the late Robert Edgar Murphy and Stella Blanche Farmer Murphy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Vance Elmo Donithan; two sons, David Reed Donithan and Robert Wayne Donithan and many sisters and brothers.

She was a longtime member of the First Church of the Brethren and retired from Jefferson Mills.

A special “thank you” to her brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Evelyn Murphy, for their support through the years and always being there for her.

She is survived by her children, Gary Donithan and wife, Mary, of Utah, Brenda Donithan and Jimbo of Saltville, Linda Simpson and husband, Richard, of Radford, and Debra Odell of Lexington; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Evelyn Murphy of Manassas Park; Rudolph and Janie Murphy of Vinton, and Tommy and Nancy Murphy of Roanoke, and sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Allen Thornton of Pulaski.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 28, 2 p.m., in the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski, with Pastor Frank Peters officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Pulaski.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 p.m. until the service hour at Bower Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be sent to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105
