WILMINGTON, Del. – Ralph Bogle Hight Sr. 73, of Pulaski, passed away Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013 at the Brandywine Nursing and Rehab Center in Deleware after a long illness.
Born May 15, 1939 in Pulaski, he was the son of the late Lawrence C. and Kate D. Hight. He was also preceded in death by his wife, E. Frances Hight; sisters, Hazel Long and Mary Barlow and brother, Marvin C. Hight Sr.
Ralph worked for the Town of Pulaski, Umbergers Garage, and painted houses. He had a huge passion for fishing, sitting in the park and watching the trains pass by, playing guitar, rides in the country, watching John Wayne westerns and Andy Griffith movies, building paper/wooden houses and listening to Hank Williams and Johnny Cash songs.
Surviving are his first wife, Myrtle P. Quesenberry, of Claymont, Del.; children, Pamela and David Horack, of New Castle, Del., Ralph B. Hight Jr. and Rebecca Susan Bourdon, both of Hartley, Del., and Angela Judy Hicks, of Pearisburg; grandchildren, Timothy Horack, Christi Betts, Christine Hight, Jason Hight, Casey Hight, Dari Newman, Anthony Hicks, Michelle Hicks, Brandon Welch, Justin Bourdon, Louie Bourdon and Lee Bourdon; great-granddaughters, Angelina Horack, Savannah Betts, Jasmine Hicks, Beverly Hicks and Victoria Hicks; great-grandsons, Alex Hight and Joshua Hight, many nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law, Loretta Hight, of Pulaski.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 21 at 11 a.m. from the New Life Church of the Nazarene on South Jefferson Avenue, Pulaski, with the Rev. Desmond Barrett officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery, Pulaski. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.
