Lee Edward Rice

Lee Edward Rice, 71, of Dublin, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 after a two-year battle with cancer.  He was born in Ft. Wayne, Ind. on Jan. 27, 1942 to Louis and Marcella Rice.  He was retired from Volvo Trucking after 28 years of dedicated service.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janet; son, Michael and grandson, Bailee Michael, both of North Carolina.  He is also survived by two sisters, Jean Kinsey and Judy Papai and by one brother, Joe, all of Indiana as well as nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Butch and Alice Buford and Bill Mayo, MD for all of their help and support.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of SWVA, 2224 S. Jefferson St., Roanoke, VA 24014 rmhc@rmhouse.net.

The family will receive visitors Saturday, Feb. 23 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 815 Randolph Ave., Pulaski, with a memorial service immediately following at 3 p.m., with Rev. Chip Sanders officiating.

    My deepest sympathy to the family. I worked with Lee at Volvo back in 70′s.
    Nice guy and I know he will be missed…..
