Pulaski County residents can once again receive free tax assistance from IRS-trained volunteers by simply making an appointment.

Volunteers will be available to meet with county residents at Pulaski Senior Center, 106 N. Washington Ave., on Mondays through April 15. Half-hour appointments are available between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Call 994-8627 for an appointment.

Volunteers are trained to assist in filing tax forms and certain schedules, including form 1040.

Participants should bring the following items with them:

•Valid photo identification,

•Social Security cards and birth dates for all individuals appearing on the tax return,

•Wage and earnings statements (W-2, W-2G, etc.),

•Interest and dividend statements (form 1099),

•Last year’s (2011) tax returns, and

•Bank routing numbers (found on your checks) so any refund can be directly deposited into your checking account.
