RICHMOND – The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is hoping the public can help provide information that will lead them to the location of the victim of a child exploitation case.
FBI’s Richmond field office released photographs of two unknown men who Special Agent in Charge Jeffrey C. Mazanec said “may be able to provide valuable details regarding the identity of a child victim in an ongoing sexual exploitation investigation.”
Mazanec said images of the child being photographed in sexually explicit positions were first recorded by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in February 2003. However, they are still being circulated on child pornography forums across the Internet.
The FBI is seeking to find the two males shown in the pictures because it appears they have been in contact with the victim in the exploitive pictures, and may be able to assist the FBI with identification efforts. However, no charges have been placed and the subjects are presumed to be innocent until convicted in a court of law.
The first man is described as a white male, likely between the ages of 25 and 35, with dark hair and glasses. The second man is a white male, likely between the ages of 35 and 45, with dark hair.
In addition to photographs of the two men who may have information, the FBI also released two photographs showing other images that may be relevant to the case. One photograph shows a yellow t-shirt containing the outline of a basketball and the text “New Market Basketball.”
Mazanec said this leads the FBI to believe the individuals with whom they would like to speak may be connected with New Market in Virginia; New Market Sports Camp in Virginia; New Market, Iowa; New Market Elementary School, Ind.; New Market Elementary School, Md.; East New Market, Md.; New Market Elementary School, Ala.; New Market Elementary School, Tenn.; New Market Township, Minn.; New Market Township, Ohio, and New Market, N.C.
Another image visible in some of the exploitative photographs is of a home with what appears to be yellow siding and an above ground swimming pool.
If any of the items is recognized and identified, Mazanec says they could assist in providing valuable information leading to the demographic location of the abused child.
