Authorities say Friday’s snowy conditions were a factor in a wreck on Route 11 that claimed a Pulaski woman’s life.
Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Jeff Saunders identified the victim of the wreck as 57-year-old Brenda Hilton of Pulaski. She was a passenger in a 1999 Plymouth Breeze driven by Julia Crawford of Christiansburg and owned by Guardian Emergency Medical Services in Wytheville.
Saunders said earlier that Crawdord was southbound when she lost control. The Plymouth slid sideways across the centerline of the highway and was struck in the passenger side by a 2011 Jeep Wrangler, driven by David Cole of Dublin.
Hilton was in the passenger side of the Plymouth and died at the scene. Crawford was treated at LewisGale Hospital-Pulaski for non-life-threatening injuries and Cole wasn’t injured.
Saunders said roads were “snow covered and extremely slick” at the time of the 11:55 a.m. wreck, half a mile north of Stone Ridge subdivision, between Dublin and Fairlawn.
