Pulaski schools were placed on “preventative lockdown” this morning, apparently as the result of a threat.
As of press time, details were sketchy, but Pulaski Police Capt. Anthony Meredith said all of the schools in the town of Pulaski were on lockdown with a police presence on each campus.
“We’re trying to track down whether there is a threat,” said Meredith during the lockdown. “We’re working on tracking down (the source of) some rumors to determine whether there is a threat.”
He declined to discuss details on what initiated the situation. However, he said there was an “apparent threat” made and “right now we’re trying to track down whether it’s substantiated.”
Pulaski County Schools Superintendent Tom Brewster said police were doing an “internal and external sweep of the school to ensure the safety of students and everything is quiet.”
