CHRISTIANSBURG – Christiansburg police say a 52-year-old Maryland man thought he was communicating with a 13-year-old girl when he tried to solicit sex from an undercover officer.

According to Becky Wilburn, spokeswoman for Christiansburg Police Department, Ercy Theodore Stottlemyer Jr. is awaiting extradition to Virginia to face a charge of sexual solicitation of a minor by electronic means.

Wilburn said investigators with Christiansburg’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit posed as a teen and communicated with Stottlemyer via the Internet.

Stottlemyer is being held without bond in Maryland after being arrested by officers with Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

The Christiansburg ICAC is a member of the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (SOVA ICAC) and worked with the Maryland ICAC on the case.

He deserves a life sentence like he imposed on his victims!!!!! …..or a public hanging….we are in a economic crisis, we really should be watching our pennies ;)
