A Parrott man is in critical condition and a Dublin man jailed following a fight in the Parrott community Thursday night.
Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Mike Alderman said deputies were dispatched to a fight in the yard of 6419 Parrott Mountain Road at 8:45 p.m. Thursday.
When police arrived, rescue personnel were already on the scene and were treating an assault victim who was bleeding from the head and unable to speak, according to Alderman. He identified the victim as 31-year-old Robert Gravley of that residence.
Police were told the suspect is Marshall Franklin “Mark” Metz, 25, of Dublin and that he left the scene in a vehicle. Alderman said Metz was arrested at another residence and charged with malicious wounding.
A motive for the attack hasn’t been determined, but police believe Gravley was hit in the head with a tire tool, according to Alderman. Gravley was airlifted to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital and was in critical condition Friday morning, hospital spokesman Eric Earnhart said.
Metz is being held without bond at New River Valley Regional Jail.
