One person was killed Friday when a car went out of control on Route 11 and entered the opposite lane of travel.
Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Capt. Jeff Saunders said a 1999 Plymouth sedan was southbound when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The Plymouth slid sideways across the centerline of the highway and was struck in the passenger side by a 2011 Jeep Wrangler.
A passenger in the Plymouth died at the scene. The driver was transported to LewisGale Hospital-Pulaski for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to Saunders. He said the driver of the Jeep wasn’t injured.
Identities of the deceased and others involved in the wreck are being withheld pending notification of next of kin and completion of the investigation by Sgt. Daniel Johnson.
Saunders said roads were “snow covered and extremely slick” at the time of the collision.
The 11:55 a.m. wreck was half a mile north of Stone Ridge subdivision, between Dublin and Fairlawn. Also responding to the scene were REMSI and Dublin Fire Department.
