Joan “Bonnie” Peake Stone

Joan “Bonnie” Peake Stone, age 75, of Pulaski, passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012.

She was born March 2, 1937 in Wythe County, the daughter of the late William Peake and Mary Hardy Peake. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Stone; daughter, Sussie Stone Massie; grandson, Michael Saunders, and great-grandson, Kenneth Robert Saunders.

Bonnie was a member of the Original Church of God in Pulaski.

She is survived by four daughters, Mary Jane Saunders, Karen and Mike Malone, Kathy and Leroy Stowers, all of Pulaski, and Brenda Sue Stone of Austinville; son, Clarence Jr. and Vickie Stone of Hillsville; three sisters, Deanna Pauley of Hillsville, Helen and Buford Corvin of Wytheville and Linda Dell and Roy Windfield of Rural Retreat; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Dec. 30, at 8 p.m. at the Reese Funeral Chapel, with the Revs. Richard Walls and Charles McPeak officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, from 6 p.m. until service time, at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Bethany Cemetery.
