Ruth Coffey Lawson, age 82, of Pulaski, passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at her home.

Born Nov. 11, 1930 in Wythe County, she was the daughter of the late Hill Coffey and Mollie Dean Coffey. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cecil Lawson; sister, Ollie Warden, and brothers, Clyde, Glen, Edmond and Johnny Coffey.

She was a long-time member of the New River Baptist Temple.

Surviving are children, Kenneth “Kenny” Lawson of Pulaski, Eva Branch and husband, James, of Shiloh, Deborah Quesenberry and husband, Rex, of Pulaski and Jean Powers of Virginia Beach; eight grandchildren, Daniel Hagee, Stephen Hagee, Sarah Harrell, Samantha Dalton, Melissa Remington, Sherry Skinner, Jerry Branch and Austin Skinner; 14 great-grandchildren, and brothers, Clarence Coffey and Jessie Coffey of Pulaski, Arthur Coffey and Winfred Coffey of Max Meadows, and Hurley Coffey of Winchester.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 2, at 1 p.m in the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski, with the Revs. Gary Stike and Everette Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11 a.m. until service hour at Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski.
