The town of Dublin wants to make sure everyone knows its Christmas Parade is on for Saturday, Dec. 15, at 11 a.m.
“We have people calling who believe that we have not been permitted and the parade will not occur,” Town Manager Bill Parker said, referring to the fact new regulations require the town to obtain a permit through Virginia Department of Transportation.
The parade begins at Dublin Middle School, travels east on Giles Avenue, across Route 11 and the railroad tracks, then turns left onto East Main Street. It disbands at Dublin Church of God.
Twenty-three entries have signed up to participate so far. Parker said there are often 30 to 35 by parade day.
Entries are still being accepted. “In fact, they can just show up at 10:30 a.m. (parade day) and we will line them up somewhere,” said Parker. “It’s the Dublin way!”
Anyone wishing to enter the parade prior to parade day should contact Deanna Hopkins at 674-4778.
