Virginia Dawn Farmer Martin

Virginia Dawn Farmer Martin, 78, of Dublin, was welcomed into the arms of her loving Savior Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012.

She was born in Dublin to the late Robert Kent Farmer and Madeline Brillheart Farmer on Jan. 5, 1934. She was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Farmer, and one sister, Katherine Bayless.

She is survived by her husband, Don Martin; son, Michael K. Martin and his wife, Chris, along with their two sons, Kent and Brock Martin, of San Diego, Calif.; daughter, Pamela D. Martin of Draper; son, Mitchell S. Martin and his wife, Cheryl, along with their two sons, Matthew and Jackson, of Huntersville, N.C.; brothers, David Farmer of Bedford and Cary Farmer and his wife, Ginger, along with their daughter, Tasha, of Lebanon, and special nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed being branch manager of Bank of Virginia, a member of Dublin United Methodist Church and Garden Club. She also had fond memories of teaching Sunday school and the Cub Scouts. She was a loving mother and delighted in helping others.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m., from Dublin United Methodist Church, with Pastor Kathie Wilson-Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be Saturday morning from the church, where the family will receive friends from 10 until the service hour.

Many thanks to all those at Pulaski Health and Rehab Center for all of their love and care and to LewisGale Hospital-Pulaski for all their efforts. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your favorite Christmas charity.

    Pam, I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom. I have very pleasant memories of her starting with our childhood days and continuing with our working years at Bank of Virginia. She was always such as nice person. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.
