Michael James Grayson

BARREN SPRINGS – Michael James Grayson, (White Bear 1%13), age 68, of Barren Springs, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012 at LewisGale Hospital – Pulaski.

He was born in Philadelphia, Pa. Oct. 24, 1944 to the late Elizabeth Feeney Grayson and Jess Rudolph Grayson Sr. He is preceded in death by both parents and two brothers, Jesse (Jay) Grayson Jr. and Richard Grayson.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Marie Lawson Grayson, and son, James William Grayson, of Barren Springs: Kathy Gray of Folsom, Pa., Claudia Grayso–Karapinar of Germany, Hilary Raptis of Newark, Del. and Jason Michael Grayson of West Chester, Pa. He is also survived by his siblings, Philip Grayson, William Grayson, Liz Westerberg, Jack Grayson and MaryJane Whelan, with a multitude of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Michael lived most of his life by choice as a Pagan for going on 42 years. It’s hard to celebrate that in a few days. But all who come to pay him respect can do so in this time of peace with his blessing. From the words of White Bear 1%13, to each and every member of his Chapter, “I tip my hat that I have been so honored from Nov 18, 1978 to present day. To the new Brothers I wish only good. For without you it is finished. To each Pagan old and new thank you for your dedication – to so many, you know who you are.  Some have heads like a Bastard Cat and all that have been privileged to have sat at my table square and round, to those who are responsible for 16 Broad St., I thank you. So drink hardy and no tears for I celebrate a great life.  Now bury me the way I lived and celebrate my life. Michael ‘White Bear 1%13’ Grayson ‘DONE.’”

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Seagle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memorial Christian Church Cemetery, Draper. The family will receive friends Friday evening, 6-8, at Seagle Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.seaglefuneralhome.com.
