CHRISTIANSBURG – Christiansburg police allege a 28-year-old woman robbed a restaurant last week by claiming to have a bomb.

Tabitha Renee Scott is alleged to have robbed the Christiansburg Little Caesar’s on North Franklin Street around 7:40 p.m. Dec. 6, a couple hours after allegedly stealing a purse from another Christiansburg restaurant.

Becky Wilburn, public relations officer for town of Christiansburg, said Scott is suspected of stealing a purse from Farm House Restaurant on Ridinger Street, then entering the pizza restaurant around 10 p.m., claiming to have to have a bomb.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the robber fled the restaurant on foot toward Cambria.

Wilburn said Scott was arrested after an employee of the Farm House allegedly saw a woman matching the “purse snatcher’s” description in the Cambria area. Police did not find any weapons or explosives during the arrest.

Scott, who is from Christiansburg, is being held without bond in Western Virginia Regional Jail on charges of grand larceny, armed robbery and threatening to bomb, Wilburn said.
