Sena Goss Lawson, 90, who resided in Fountain Hills, Ariz., formerly of Pulaski, departed this life Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, for her heavenly home and to be reunited with her loving husband, Roy.
She was born in Galax on Nov. 19, 1921, and was the daughter of the late Greeley and Vina Goss of Galax. Ms. Lawson was a Galax resident until 1969 when she and her late husband, Royall Porter Lawson, moved to Pulaski. Ms Lawson worked for the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department as magistrate until her retirement in 1989.
She is survived by two daughters, Vicki Estes of Greensboro, N.C., and her husband, Ed, and Pat Mielke of Fountain Hills, Ariz., and her husband, John; four grandchildren, Matthew Mielke of Boston, Mass., Stephanie Thornlow, Michelle Romano and Amanda Estes of Greensboro, N.C., and three great-grandchildren, Zachary, Nicholas and Caden all of Greensboro, N.C.
Sena was a loving mother and devoted wife. Over the years, one of her greatest joys were her many dogs who provided her with much enjoyment and comfort.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 13, 11 a.m., at Stevens Funeral Chapel in Pulaski, with the Rev. James Cates of Greensboro, N.C., officiating. Entombment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Dublin. A celebration of her life will be held Monday, Nov. 12, from 6-8 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski.
