Ruth Wright Foglesong, age 92, of Pulaski, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond. She was born Feb. 22, 1920, in Bland County to the late Sallie Gusler Wright and Frank J. Wright. Ruth was a member of First United Methodist Church, a former member of Pulaski Music Club and the Thursday Club. She worked for 21 years at the old Pulaski Hospital Clinic and New River Internal Medicine Clinic at Pulaski Community Hospital. She was a member of the Fine Arts Center of the New River Valley and volunteered at her church and at the Pulaski Community Hospital until her 19th year. She loved helping people and preferred that her gifts be anonymous. She was a great mother, a good neighbor, and a friend to many. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry N. Foglesong, and a brother, Carl R. “Bub” Wright. She is survived by two daughters, Kitty F. Hardt and Betty L. Foglesong, both of Richmond, and by her nieces, Nancy Colly and Carol Jean Wright of Bland. Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 30, 11 a.m., at First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Hugh Kilgore officiating. Entombment will follow in Birchlawn Memorial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends Friday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
