He sold out his last performance in Pulaski and tickets are expected to fly off the shelf again as international award-winning Elvis tribute artist Ryan Pelton returns to the Pulaski Theatre Dec. 14.

Pelton was supposed to perform at the theatre in September, but a call from Hollywood required the show to be pushed forward to December.

Judy Ison, executive director of the Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley, explained that Pelton has been in California for months shooting the movie, “The Identical,” which is about Elvis’ faith. She said Pelton will have more details to share about the movie while he is in Pulaski.

According to the movie’s website, theidenticalmovie.com, the film stars Ashley Judd and is supposed to be released next fall.

Pelton will take the stage at the Pulaski Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 14 for a reserved seating performance, co-sponsored by the Fine Arts Center and Friends of the Pulaski Theatre. Tickets are $20 in advance and $22 at the door.

In keeping with the holidays, Ison said Pelton’s show will include some of the Christmas songs Elvis was known for performing over the years.

Ison asks the community to, “Please help us welcome Ryan back for another sold out performance.”

Pelton first performed in Pulaski in 2009 as part of the Jackson Park Concert Series. His show sold out when he returned in February 2011 for a Valentine’s Day show at the theatre.

Pelton has performed all over the world, entertaining audiences in the tens-of-thousands with his unique show that covers all eras of Elvis Presley’s career – from the raw-edge 50s to the powerful Las Vegas years of the 70s.

Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to work beside many original musicians and vocalists that performed with Elvis Presley himself, including The Jordanaires, The Imperials, The Sweet Inspirations, D.J. Fontana, Charlie Hodge, Jerry Scheff and Millie Kirkham.

He performed a duet of “If I Can Dream” with Celine Dion on American Idol and played the role of Elvis in the movie “Hound Dog.” He tours worldwide with his show, American Icon.

Joe Moscheo of the Imperials called Pelton, “The best (Elvis tribute artist) in Vegas since the Man himself.”

Mike Powers of WGHL Wiggle 100 in Troy, Pa. said, “For those of us who knew and loved Elvis, it’s like falling in love again. For those who wanted to know what Elvis was like, you’ll meet him when you see Ryan Pelton.”

Tickets are available at the Fine Arts Center, Pulaski; Martins Pharmacy, Pulaski; Pulaski County Visitors Center in Dublin, and Barry’s Music in Radford.  The Fine Arts Center, 21 W. Main St., offers purchases on most major credit cards.
