An event that had been planned for Dec. 4 at the town of Pulaski’s new farmers’ market will not be held this year.
Peggy White, executive director of Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce, said she decided to cancel the event in October because a contract hadn’t been developed. However, she said she looks forward to making plans for the spring market when it opens.
While the contract still hasn’t been signed by the Chamber or reviewed by its executive board, Pulaski Town Council voted 5-1 Tuesday to “authorize the town manager to execute the contract with the Chamber of Commerce to run the Farmer’s Market.” Councilman H.M. Kidd cast the dissenting vote.
If the Chamber agrees to terms of the contract, the farmers’ market will be held at Pulaski Train Station once a week between May 1 and Sept. 30.
