Curtis Lee Mitchell Sr., 75, of Pulaski, passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, in LewisGale Hospital-Pulaski.
He was born in Smyth County, Aug. 29, 1937, the son of the late Edward Lee and Annie Evelyn Burkett Mitchell. He was also preceded in death by a son, Curtis L. Mitchell Jr. He worked as a core driller in the mining industry and was Pentecostal by faith.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Cregger Mitchel; daughters and spouses, Treassa and Jerry French, of Pulaski, Jeannie and Darrell Quesenberry, of Draper, and Janet Mitchell, of Richmond; son and spouse, Doug and Gini Mitchell, of Pulaski; sister and spouse, Shirley and Virgil Cowin, of Brownwood, Texas; brother and spouse, Roger and Linda Mitchell, of Rural Retreat; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one to arrive shortly.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 13, 7 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Geary Jonas and the Rev. Richard Collins officiating. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 14, 11 a.m., in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends and family Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. before the service at Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski.
