BAYTOWN, TEXAS – Janice R. Bazor, 65, of Baytown, Texas, was surrounded by the love of her family when she passed away peacefully at a Pasadena, Texas hospital Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012.
Born in Pulaski, Va., on Oct. 25, 1946, she was one of three children born to Carson and Edith (Reynolds) Morefield. As a child, she and her family attended Pulaski Church of God, which is now located on Bob White Boulevard in Pulaski. Janice was a graduate of Pulaski High School, Class of 1965. She was a dedicated registered nurse for over 45 years, most recently working in hospice care. She sang in church from the time she was five, and was an active member of Family Worship Church in Old River-Winfree, Texas. Janice will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, a loyal sister, a treasured friend, and a strong Christian woman.
Preceded in death by her parents, she is survived by her husband of 14 years, Danny Bazor; daughter, Stephanie McBride and husband, Ken, of Baytown; brother, Dr. Roger Morefield, and wife, Eugenia, of Seabrook, Texas; sister, Eleanore Niccoli, and husband, Thomas, of Pasadena, Texas; stepchildren, Dana Helper and husband, Michael, of Greenville, S.C., Daniel Bazor of Moline, Ill., and Joanna Thompson of Citrus Heights, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many other friends and colleagues.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, Oct. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Crespo and Jirrels Funeral and Cremation Services, 6123 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521. A Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, Oct. 10, 10 a.m., at Family Worship Church, 12101 FM 1409 in Old River-Winfree, Texas 77523, with the Rev. Clay Duckworth officiating. Interment will follow at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Houston, Texas 77038.
