A second suspect was arrested Thursday in connection with the murder of a Parrott man earlier this week.

Pulaski County Sheriff Jim Davis said Matthew Earnest Arnold, 21, of Pulaski County is being held without bond at New River Valley Regional Jail on a charge of second-degree murder.

Arnold and Roland Keith Wilson Jr., 41, are charged in the death of 50-year-old Stephen Harrison Bane.

Davis said members of the sheriff’s office found Bane’s body around 2:30 a.m. Thursday in a vacant house on Creek Road in the Parrott Community. Bane was last seen in the Parrott area late Monday.

Davis said the investigation determined Wilson, who was living on Belspring Road, and Bane became involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical.

Davis did not provide details of Arnold’s connection to the incident, but he did say the investigation is continuing.
