Lonnie Earl Jones

Lonnie Earl Jones, 71, Pulaski, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012 in LewisGale Medical Center, Salem.

 

He was born in Pulaski on Dec. 2, 1940 and was the son of the late James Elmer Jones Sr. and Mary Lee Midkiff Jones.

 

Mr. Jones was a retired insurance agent of 17 years with American General. He was a Deacon at Draper Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church and secretary and treasurer of the Sunday school class. Mr. Jones was an avid hunter and fisherman and a great family man.

 

Surviving are his wife, Teresa Jones, Pulaski; daughter, Carol R. Jones, Pulaski; sons, Richard D. Jones, Pulaski, and Michael J. Jones, Pulaski, and three grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 15, 2 p.m., at Draper Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Mike Ingo officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visiting will be Saturday at the church where the family will receive friends from noon until the service hour.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials be made to Joy Ranch, P.O. Box 727, Hillsville, VA 24343.
