BREAKING NEWS: Attempted child abduction probed

By MELINDA WILLIAMS

Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a child abduction attempt in the vicinity of Ruebush and Highland roads in the Dublin area of Pulaski County Sunday afternoon.

Sheriff Jim Davis said an eight-year-old child, who was playing in a yard, reported that a man wearing a ski mask and driving a green smaller car ordered him, in a threatening tone, to get in the vehicle. The child fled to the house and the car left the scene.

The car is believed to have been a Dodge Neon and was missing a front hubcap, according to Davis. In addition to the ski mask, he said the suspect was wearing a red baseball cap.

A witness saw a vehicle matching the child’s description speed down the road in that area. Davis said the witness also confirmed that there was something over the driver’s face.

The investigation is continuing and patrols have been increased, “particularly in neighborhoods,” said the sheriff.

Police have issued an area-wide all-points bulletin, hoping another law enforcement agency will see a vehicle matching the suspect car’s description and identify the operator. Area authorities also are being asked to notify the sheriff’s office if they receive similar complaints.

Anyone having information about the incident or the identity of the suspect is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 980-7800 or any other law enforcement agency. To anonymously leave a tip, call 980-7810 after 4:30 p.m.

Times have changed in Pulaski. Minus the ghost-town atmosphere, the deminishing jobs in the area, the drug problems, people fleeing the area because of the bleek outlook. IF THAT WASNT enough, now the area has to deal with mukes like this!
