Roscoe Thomas Cox Jr., 89, of Pulaski, died Friday, May 11, 2012 at LewisGale Hospital – Pulaski after a brief illness.
Roscoe enjoyed a long, happy, productive life – living every day to the fullest. He was born Jan. 22, 1922 in Greenville, N.C.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian Ray Tilley, formerly of Durham, N.C., a son, R. Thomas Cox III of Aiken, S.C., and many close relatives in North and South Carolina.
He graduated from Randolph Macon Military Academy in Front Royal, attended Hampden-Sydney College, Duke University and, after serving in the United States Marine Corp for four years in the Pacific Theatre, he graduated from Guilford College in Guilford, N.C. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
A graveside service will be held in Durham, N.C. at a later date.
