If you have a habit of parking in fire lanes, even for a minute, you may find yourself paying a hefty fine.
Pulaski Fire Marshal Todd Garwood reminds everyone that parking in a fire lane is a violation of Pulaski Town Code. Fines for violations can range from $25 to $200.
Garwood said he has fielded a number of questions lately about motorists parking in fire lanes.
“We want to remind everyone of this very important law,” he said. “The Town Code requires no parking or obstructing a fire lane in any manner.”
Garwood said he is contacting business owners about keeping their fire lanes up-to-date and in compliance with the code “in an effort to help keep the citizens and businesses of the town fire safe.”
He and Pulaski Police Department will continue to enforce no parking in fire lanes.
