Dorothy Hall Fowler Sheffey, 85, of Dublin, passed away Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, at Radford Nursing & Rehab.
She was a member of Mountain View United Methodist Church and was a retired manager of Wallaces Smartwear. Dorothy was very active in the community and lived by the philosophy, “You get out of anything what you put into it.” She received numerous awards for her service in the community, her church, and the Republican party.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Alice Martin Hall, and husband, Elmer James Fowler.
Survivors include her husband, Donald H. Sheffey, of Dublin; daughter and son-in-law, Alice Fowler and Butch Buford, of Dublin; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis James and Eva Fowler, of Buena Vista; brother, Calvin Dexter Hall, of Christiansburg; sister, Ester Soper, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; sister-in-law, Thelma Hall, of High Point, N.C.; stepdaughters and their spouses, Rhonda and Phil Moser, of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Sandra Kay and Brandon Clabes, of Choctaw, Okla.; stepson, Donald Keith Sheffey, of Midwest City, Okla.; four grandchildren, Lee Anna Shaheen, and Ashlea, Zachary and Jacob Fowler; great-granddaughter, Logan Surface; three step-grandchildren, Connie Moser, and Collin and Morgan Clabes, and a very special step-granddaughter, Gabriella Clabes.
Special thanks to Carilion Hospice for their loving care. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at Mullins Funeral Home, in Radford, with the Rev. Paul Goshorn officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.

my most sincere condolence. I only received word of
her passing today. I have always had a special place
in my heart for her.She was an amazing person and a
wonderful woman.
She will be missed a great deal by many, but
most of all her family. again I am so sorry for
your loss.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Dot. I attended Mt. View with her prior to moving to South Carolina. She will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
