Johnny Austin

Johnny Austin, age 52 of Pulaski, passed away Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010 at his home. He was born March 31, 1958 in Giles and was the son of the late Nanny Bell Austin. His brother, Michael Austin, also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie Austin of Pulaski; children LaDawn Carr of Pulaski, Michele Plummer of Pulaski, Raquel Martin of West Virginia, Michael Powell of Pulaski, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wayne Olinger (Lisco Robert Russell, III) of Norfolk, Desmond Trey Austin of Pulaski, and Ian D. Austin of Pulaski; 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; brothers Mr. and Mrs. David Austin of Pulaski, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Austin of Pulaski, Mr. and Mrs. George Austin of Giles, and Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Austin of Blacksburg; an uncle, Percy Lee Austin of Roanoke; an aunt, Mrs. Peggy Peoples of Montgomery County; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and an abundant amount of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Bower Funeral Home with Bishop Anthony Tucker officiating. Interment will follow at the Pinehurst Cemetery, Pulaski. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time.
