The Long John Silver’s restaurant in Pulaski is closed, but it remains uncertain whether the closing is permanent.
The Southwest Times received a tip Tuesday afternoon that the restaurant off East Main Street would be closing permanently at the end of the day. A woman named Jennifer who identified herself as the manager would not confirm the business’ intent to close.
When asked to provide the name and contact information for someone who could comment on the status of the restaurant, the manager declined to answer the request other than to tell the reporter to call back in a couple of days.
This morning, signs on the door merely stated, “We are closed! Sorry for the inconvenience!”
An electronic sign in front of the building, which normally runs continuously, also was turned off this morning.
Bob Strenz, who owns the property on which the restaurant is located, was unaware of the closing. He provided the telephone number of a man in charge of the facility, but that man, Wayne Ferguson of Charter Foods, could not be reached for comment as of press time this morning.
The media relations division of Yum! Brands, which owns the Long John Silver’s brand, was contacted, but did not respond to calls or an e-mail message by press time. Yum! also owns the Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell brands.
