The Pulaski Police Department, in a collaborative effort with the Pulaski Community Partners Coalition, will hold a prescription take back event on Saturday, April 24, in the parking lot of Magic Mart in Pulaski.
Community members are asked to bring their unused, unwanted or outdated prescription and/or over-the-counter medication to the event to have them properly disposed of at no cost.
According to a press release from the Pulaski Police Department, every day more than 2,000 children ages 12-17 try a painkiller for recreational purposes for the first time. Of those children, 70 percent get the medication from their friends or family.
"Your participation can help protect you, your family and our community," stated the release.
