Steve Davidson, age 88, of Pulaski, died Friday April 2, 2010 in the Veterans Hospital in Salem.
He was born May 28, 1921 in Wythe County, and was the son of the late Mattie Safewright Davidson and Jasper Davidson. He was a veteran of W.W. II, having served in the U.S. Army in Europe, and was a member of the American Legion. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years Dolly Myers Davidson of Pulaski; two sons Larry S. Davidson and his wife Ann of Draper, and Jerry A. Davidson of Pulaski; a daughter Sandy Hancock and her husband Larry of Pulaski; a sister Mary Ling and her husband Don of Creston, Ohio. He is also survived by six grandchildren Kevin Davidson of Draper, Brent Erik Davidson of Draper, Brian Davidson of Pulaski County, Christopher Davidson of Columbia, S.C., Bradley Hancock of Harrisonburg, and Tara Hancock Linkous and her husband Eric of Warrenton; one great-grandson Connor John Linkous of Warrenton; along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 5, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Seagle Funeral Home with the Rev. David Lones officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin, where V.F.W. Post 1184 will conduct military honors. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
