Yes, the weather is conspiring against us. Due to the starting time of the nasty weather I am going to head out this afternoon ahead of the storm. We will move the monthly meetings to the 18 and 19 and cross our fingers for better luck. Just a reminder that I can be reached through email while I am gone. I will be back in the office for the morning of the 12 and at NRVCS that afternoon.

n The Pulaski Theatre announces that due to weather conditions STRATMOSPHERE that was scheduled to perform on Saturday, Feb. 6, at Pulaski Theatre has been Posponed to be announced at a later date. For more information please contact Pulaski Theatre at 540-994-9555.
n All Virginia Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) customer service centers will be closed on Monday, Feb. 15, in observance of the George Washington Day holiday. Customers may continue to conduct their DMV business on holidays and every day through DMV’s website, www.dmvNOW.com, using DMV’s automated telephone service at 1-888-337-4782 or through the mail.
n Radford University’s “String Extravaganza” Rescheduled To February 7 at 5 p.m.
n Due to inclement weather, “The String Extravaganza,” part of a series of events celebrating Radford University’s Centennial year, has been rescheduled for Sunday, Feb. 7, at 5 p.m. The original date was Saturday, Jan. 30, at 4 p.m. The event will be held in the Performance Hall of the Covington Center.

n The Wedding Singer, previously scheduled to play the Roanoke Performing Arts Theatre on Sunday, Jan. 31, at 2 p.m. has been rescheduled. The new performance date will be Wednesday, March 31 at 7:30 p.m. Buffet will begin at 5:30 and doors for the performance will open at 6:30. Subscribers are encouraged to contact the Roanoke Civic Center Ticket Office directly with any questions.
n DMV Service Interruption for Certain Transactions Occurs Feb. 13. Social Security Verification Will Be Unavailable

n Due to the extreme bad winter weather expected Friday, as well as that of the past week experienced in and around the New River Valley, Pulaski County High School has been forced to postpone the jersey retirement ceremony for Jeff King and Todd Grantham. The jersey retirement ceremony will most likely be postponed until the preseason Foundation Game currently being planned for the 2010 Cougar Football season. While it is regrettable that this action is necessary, the school would rather take safety into consideration. More information will be put out as soon as it is available concerning this event.
n The Spaghetti Dinner for $5.00 all you can eat at the Masonic Lodge #33 Fourth Street to assist in benefiting the Jordan’s Chapel and Aldersgate United Methodist Church Youth Groups has been postponed again because of impending weather. IT WILL BE HELD SATURDAY, FEB. 27, from 4 to 7 p.m. Please make adjustments to your calenders and help by attending this great event! n The H1N1 Vaccine Clinic scheduled for this coming Friday at the Radford Recreation Center (200 George St.) has been rescheduled for Feb. 12th from 9:00-2:00. Vaccines will be administered on a first-come, first-served basis and the event is FREE.
n The community-hosted H1N1 clinic scheduled for Friday, February 5, 2010 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Radford Recreation Center has been cancelled due to potential inclement weather. It has been rescheduled for Friday, February 12, 2010 from 9 a.m. to 2 pm at the Radford Recreation Center, 200 George St. in Radford.
