Carolina man cited after hit-and-run

A North Carolina man was cited for hit and run Monday afternoon in connection with an incident near Dublin.
Pulaski County Sheriff Jim Davis said officers stopped a Ford Taurus in the parking lot of The Southwest Times Monday after receiving a report of a hit and run involving minor property damage. He said the 3:30 p.m. incident occurred at the intersection of Alexander Road and Cougar Trail, and involved one vehicle “bumping” another vehicle at the stoplight.
Based on the complainant’s information, Davis said police stopped a Taurus being driven by Calvin Pope of North Carolina. Due to the circumstances, he said, the officer decided to have the department’s drug and patrol dog search the vehicle, but the search did not turn up any contraband.
Pope was cited for leaving the scene of an accident, according to Davis.
