Daniel Talbert age 83 of Pulaski, died early Monday morning February 1, 2010 at his residence. He was born April 28, 1926 in Pocahontas, and was the son of the late Alverta Nichols Talbert and George Talbert. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Navy, and was a retired employee of Jefferson Mills with 34 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel Talbert and several step-brothers and step-sisters, and his first wife, Mozelle Finn Talbert. He is survived by his wife: Delphia “Jean” Gregory Talbert of Pulaski; two sons, Daniel Talbert and his wife Teresa of Pulaski, and Ricky Talbert and his wife Rosie of Portsmouth; two daughters, Marie Talbert of Pulaski, and Nancy O’Dell and her husband Randolph of Hiwassee; three step-sons, Gregory W. Smith and his wife Ashley of Pulaski, and Robert Dale Smith and his wife Connie of Dublin who served as caregivers, and Richard K. Smith of Jarrett, VA; two step-daughters, Beverly Smith Kent and her husband Earl of Fincastle, and Sharon Hale of Norfolk. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 3 step-great-grandchildren, and a brother-in-law, Jim Gregory of Pulaski. Funeral services will be held Thursday February 4, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Seagle Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin where the V.F.W.
