Man faces child porn charges

A Radford man was arrested on two felony charges, including possession of child pornography, after police executed a search warrant at his residence Saturday.
According to Radford City police, Kevin Edward Regan, 24, of Fourth Avenue in Radford, is being held without bond in New River Valley Regional Jail. He is scheduled to be arraigned today in Radford City General District Court.
In addition to the child pornography charge, a Class 6 felony, Regan also is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, a Class 5 felony, and obstruction of justice, a Class 1 misdemeanor. If convicted on all counts he faces up to 16 years of incarceration.
During the search of Regan’s residence, police say they seized computers, digital media, and six plants they suspect to be marijuana.
Regan’s arrest was the result of an investigation initiated by the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The task force was created as part of Bedford County Sheriff’s Office’s “Operation Blue Ridge Thunder.” Its mission is to combat sexual exploitation of children over the internet.
