Marion Lee (Skooty) Poff

Marion Lee (Skooty) Poff, 69 of Pulaski went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Lewis-Gale Medical Center, Salem. He was born July 17, 1940 at War, W.Va.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roosevelt Poff, his step-father, Keister S. Smith, his brother, William B. Poff and his wife of 45 years, Lois Ann Stafford Poff. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 23 years, was a Vietnam War Veteran, worked 21 years for Civil Service. He attended several local churches. He sorely missed his beloved wife, Lois and was ready to go home to Heaven and join her. He was a loving husband, devoted father and Honored Veteran.
He is survived by a son, Richard Lee (Ricky) Poff, Oklahoma City, OK; his mother, Ruth P. Smith, Peterstown, W.VA; two brothers, John M. Poff, Charlotte, N.C. and Steven K. Smith, Irmo, S.C.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at the A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate with the Rev. Leslie Shelton officiating. Military graveside rites at Birchlawn Burial Park, Pearisburg by Narrows V. F . W. Post 6000, Narrows American Legion Post 68 and Pembroke American Legion Post 311. The visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
