Free family movie on tap at Pulaski Theatre

The public is invited to come out to the Pulaski Theatre Saturday, Dec. 19 for a free Christmas movie to help spread the holiday spirit.
The Town of Pulaski, James Hardie Building Products, Pulaski Theatre and RAS Properties have joined together to sponsor the afternoon of family entertainment featuring the Disney movie “Santa Buddies.”
Although admission to the movie is free, the sponsors are requesting a donation of canned food that will benefit New River Community Action’s Food Pantry. Two showings of the movie will be offered – the first at 2 p.m. and the second at 5 p.m.
“Santa Buddies,” which features talking puppies, is called “a wonderfully wacky twist on a classic Christmas favorite.”
According to the plot of the movie “Puppy Paws, the fun-loving son of Santa Paws,” gets tired of the North Pole and seeks out Budderball, who is on Santa’s naughty list, to show him how to be an ordinary puppy. When the magical Christmas Icicle starts to melt, the world begins to forget the true meaning of the season, so it is up to Puppy Paws and his newfound “Buddies” to save Christmas.
The free movie is one of several holiday events.
The Polar Express will return to Pulaski Dec. 17 to take riders to see the local holiday lights aboard the trolley.This is the second year the Town of Pulaski is offering trolley tours. The rides depart the Maple Shade parking lot at 5:30, 6:45 and 7:15 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased on the second floor of the Pulaski Municipal Building. Cost is $2 per person, with children under eight riding free. Call 994-8696, ext. 0.
