Beverly Ann Patterson Quesenberry, 59, of Max Meadows, VA died Friday, December 18, 2009 in the Wythe Co. Community Hospital, Wytheville, VA. She was born in Richmond, VA on May 12, 1950 and was the daughter of Raymond Marvin Patterson and Ida Frances Vaughn Patterson of Richmond, VA. Bev did her undergraduate studies at VCU, received her Master’s in Reading from Virginia Tech and her Master’s in Administration and Leadership from Radford University. She was Head Teacher at Jackson Memorial Elementary School in Wythe County before taking the position as Principal of Max Meadows Elementary School. She was a member of the Virginia Education Association. Bev was a wonderful mother and best friend to her daughter, Jenny. She was a life-long educator and her legacy is her devotion to the education of youth. Her teaching abilities enriched many lives over the span of her 30+ years in the education profession. Bev’s love for teaching heavily impacted the life of her daughter, who has followed in her footsteps in dedicating her life as a teacher and educator. In addition to her parents, surviving are: Daughter – Jennifer Zienius, Radford, VA; Sisters and Spouses Patricia Lehman, Richmond, VA; Sue & Randy Hartley, Jacksonville, FL; Donna & Leonard Loving, Richmond, VA; Nieces & Nephews.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11 AM from the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Teresa Tolbert officiating. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes memorials be made to an educational fund of one’s choice.
