Charlie William Kanode

Charlie William Kanode, age 83 of Pulaski passed away Friday, December 18, 2009 in the Montgomery Regional Hospital.
Born June 14, 1926 in Pulaski he was the son of the late Lands & Anna Belle Asper Kanode. His beloved wife of 60 years Virginia “Jenny” Turner Kanode and three brothers Johnny, Jackie and Harry Kanode also preceded him in death.
He was a retired part owner of the New River Valley Home Improvement Corporation, Pulaski. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II, where he received the Purple Heart. He is survived by his Daughter & Son-in-law Judy & Sammy Saunders-Pulaski; Grandchildren Sammy Saunders, Jr.-Pulaski; Windy Lawson-Dublin; Great Grandchildren Kayla Saunders-Pulaski and Haley Saunders-Radford; Great-Great Granddaughter-Skyelar Saunders-Pulaski; Brothers Robert Kanode-Streetsboro, OH;
Billy Kanode & wife, Elaine-Boulder City, NV; Sisters Lura Sergent-Staffordsville, VA; Nancy Stoots & husband, Dexter-Pulaski;
Sisters-in-law Lois Kanode, Patty Kanode, Hester Midkiff – All of Pulaski; Special Uncle & Aunt Charles Willard & Iva Kanode-Pulaski;
Several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews & great, great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Bower Funeral Home-Chapel, Pulaski with the Pastor Randall Lawrence officiating. Interment will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin with full military rites conducted at the graveside by the Pulaski VFW Post 1184.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski.
