John Duval Kelley, 48, of Kodiak, AK and formerly of Draper, VA passed away Saturday, November 28, 2009, in the Providence Medical Center, Anchorage, AK. He had been a part of the Alaska Fishing Industry for over 20 years, most recently in Kasilof and Kodiak. He was born in Radford, VA on October 11, 1961 and was the son of the late Joseph Francis Kelley. Surviving are: mother Helen Kirby Kelley, Draper, VA; sisters Martha K. Biggar, Draper, VA; Elizabeth K. Whitman, Pulaski, VA; brother Joseph N. Kelley, Draper, VA; very special nephew and niece John Whitman, Pulaski, VA; Julia Whitman, Pulaski, VA; uncle & aunt Tom and Jane Kelley, Draper, VA; aunt Jean K. Plott, Mechanicsville, VA; numerous cousins, and a host of friends both in Virginia and Alaska.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 4, 2009 from the Draper’s Valley Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Robert Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.
