Blanche Lenore Perry Davis

Blanche Lenore Perry Davis was born on August 5, 1929 to James Perry and Thelma Mason Perry Sadler in Crystal, West Virginia. She married Albert Davis on March 10, 1949. To this union were born five children, Adris Albert Davis (Al), Ervin Rae Davis, Minnie Pamela Davis (Pam), Maxine Lenore Davis (Len), Gene Wesley Davis (Chuck and Terry) and Latisha Davis. Blanche departed this life into the hands of God on Friday, November 27, 2009.
She was preceded in death by her husband , Albert. In addition to her children, she leaves behind fifteen grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends and sister-in-law, Isabelle Davis. Blanche’s family, one that extended far beyond the line of blood, was the love of her life. She loved spending time with all her devoted grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always present and connected in all of our lives- the Village Watch Commander acting as friend, confidant, mother and babysitter as needed. Memories are far and wide of children, family and friends gathering in her home, in her yard and in her den. Her home was their home. She never met a stranger. You could always count on her welcoming smile and nurturing nature and a good home cooked meal. Blanche took pride in her cooking which was known throughout the community. She was an avid reader and loved poetry, recently reciting her favorite childhood poem from memory. She was also known for her plants, love of animals, music and for being the family historian with her extensive collection of family pictures and stories that she loved to share. Blanche departed this life in the same way that she chose to live this life -surrounded by loved ones and in the Light of God. Her sweet, kind heart will be truly missed. We celebrate this bond that keeps us close-Blanche Lenore Perry Davis.
