Parade date a week later in Dublin

The Town of Dublin will hold its Christmas parade a week later than usual this year.
Dublin Town Council voted at its last meeting to hold the parade on the second Saturday in December (Dec. 12) rather than the more typical first Saturday of the month.
The date was changed in hopes a soldier stationed in the Middle East will be able to serve as grand marshal.
Town Manager Bill Parker said he is sending an invitation to Christopher W. Hetherington requesting that he be grand marshal of this year’s parade. The soldier will not be in town on Dec. 5, when the parade normally would be held.
