Reverend Wilmon R. Passmore, loving husband and father, of Pulaski, VA, went home to be with his Lord on November 21, 2009. He was born on December 1, 1924 in Stone Co., Arkansas. He pastored many churches in the Church of God of Prophecy during his 55 years of serving the Lord, in Tennessee, Virginia, Indiana, Michigan, Arkansas, Ohio, and West Virginia.
He was also a Marine veteran having served in WWII and the Korean War.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Ada Johnson Passmore, parents, Roscoe and Pearl Lawrence Passmore, brother, W.A. Passmore, and grandson, Casey M. Wright.
He is survived by his wife, Beulah E. Passmore, his children, Nancy Sullivan of Holland, Michigan, Carol and Darrell Gardner of Pulaski, Elaine and Gary Gallimore, Pulaski, and Doyle and Nancy Passmore of Holland, Michigan. He was pa-pa to nine grandchildren, Shane and Amy Sullivan of North Carolina, Shanell and Sam Ingram of Tennessee, Richard (Rick) Gardner of Roanoke, VA; Jeff and Tammy Gardner of Draper, VA; Robin and Duane Linkous of Dublin, VA; Brian Gallimore of Dublin, VA; Jennifer and Nick McBain, of Manassas, VA; Heather and Eric Mosher of Michigan, and Kristin & Ryan Kragt of Michigan.
He is also survived by his step-children, Deborah A. Edwards, of Pulaski, VA; Marie and Frank Arnold of Wytheville, VA, Mark and Marilyn Edwards of Palmer, Alaska. He was pa-pa to six step-grandchildren, Angela and Wayne Reed, of Pulaski, VA, Amy Thomas, of Pulaski, VA, Anjanette M. Chrisley, Pulaski, VA, Ian Arnold, Wytheville, VA; and Luke Edwards, Norfolk, VA. He was a beloved pa-pa to 16 great-grandchildren, and 6 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, VA. Viewing by family and friends will be from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 25, 2009, with the service following right after 7:00 pm. Officiating the service will be Reverend Doyle Passmore, his beloved son, Reverend Oscar “Sonny” Ayers and Reverend Randall Lawrence. Graveside interment will be on Thursday, November 26, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Thornspring Methodist Church Cemetery, with military honors being provided by the local VFW. Family will be receiving friends at the family home until the time of the service.
