Man killed in Monday night accident

An 89-year-old man died Monday night in an automobile accident on Altoona Street in the Town of Pulaski.
According to Pulaski Police Chief Gary Roche, Beecher Miller, was driving an automobile that crossed the center of the roadway and sideswiped an oncoming automobile. Miller’s vehicle then continued off the right side of the road, striking two trees.
Miller died later at the hospital.
Roche said witness statements indicated excessive speed by Miller’s vehicle may have contributed to the accident. There was no indication of alcohol being involved in the 8:29 p.m. wreck in the 500 block of Altoona Street.
Pulaski Police Officer T. S. Troy, the first to arrive on the scene, rendered assistance to the injured motorist until rescue personnel arrived on the scene.
The other motorist was identified as 51-year-old Pamela Ayers.

No charges have been filed.
