Three arrested for school vandalism

Three Radford men were arrested late Saturday in connection with vandalism at the city’s new Belle Heth Elementary School, slated to open this fall.
According to Radford City Spokeswoman Rebecca Hawke, Radford police received a call from a resident near the school just before midnight Saturday that three men had been seen inside the school building.
When police arrived on the scene, Marshall David Williams, Andrew Preston Black, and William Russell Price, all 20 years old, were taken into custody without incident.
The men allegedly ripped numerous video projectors from the ceiling with the intent to steal them, Hawke said. Two air conditioning units on the roof of the school also were overturned.
Damages are still being estimated.
All three men are charged with breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony, grand larceny, felony property damage, and underage possession of alcohol.
The men are being held in New River Valley Regional Jail without bond.
