‘Steppin Out’ in Blacksburg this weekend

Blacksburg’s 29th annual "Steppin’ Out" event is set for this Friday and Saturday.
The event will start at 10 a.m. and end at 10 p.m. both days.
Steppin’ Out will feature 150 artists and craft makers selling a variety of items, including jewelry, pottery, textiles, metal work, basketry, stained and fused glass, yard art, fine art, furniture, toys and more.
In addition, there will be food vendors, along with food booths set up by downtown Blacksburg restaurants.
Children’s activities will be offered by the Blacksburg Junior Women’s Club on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the hospitality tent on Roanoke Street, next to the store Xanadu.
As for entertainment, there will be three stages featuring live performances. According to the Downtown Merchants of Blacksburg website, www.downtownblacksburg.com, the main stage, located on College Avenue, will provide continuous live music throughout both days, while the acoustic stage, set up at Main and Lee Streets, will feature folk, contemporary and "utterly unique sounds."
The community stage will be located on Roanoke Street, and will showcase local and regional performers, "from cloggers to belly dancers," according to the website.

Admission and parking for this event is free, and the Blacksburg Transit will provide free shuttles to the event on both Friday and Saturday.
