Man sought on drug charges

CANA – A Carroll County man is being sought on several felony charges stemming from a marijuana plant allegedly found in his yard during an annual Marijuana Eradication program.
Carroll County Sheriff H. Warren Manning said the plant was located in Donald McMillian’s yard off Wards Gap Road in Cana during a Tuesday eradication that netted a total of 18 marijuana plants having a street value of $18,000.
The program was conducted by officers from Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, Virginia State Police and Virginia Department of Forestry, along with a helicopter from the Virginia National Guard.
According to Manning, a search warrant was obtained for McMillian’s property as a result of the marijuana plant. He said a search of the premises allegedly turned up over seven pounds of marijuana, five gallons of untaxed liquor, a dozen firearms, an ATV and $250 in cash.
Warrants were obtained charging McMillian with possession of untaxed liquor, felony possession of a firearm with untaxed liquor, felony distribution of marijuana, and felony manufacture marijuana.
McMillian is being sought by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office on the outstanding warrants.
